Bitterly disappointed

Although I am not a big make-up fan (well, I use mascara and foundation from time to time), I really found nothing new or helpful to me in this book. I think, an average teenager can tell more about make-up than Bobbi's book - since you can read those basics in every woman magazine. For example, in the chapter devoted to the eyebrows , Bobbi explains that every woman should keep her eyebrows clean, pluck them, and make up when necessary. As for the form and color, the only advice from Bobbi is that the eyebrow should begin right above the inside corner of the eye, and go down beyond the outside corner of the eye; the colors for make-up the brows would be taupe for blonds, sable for light-browned, etc. Did you know it before reading Bobbi's book? I did. In the chapter "Foundation" I expected to learn more about the types of skin, skin undertones and matching foundation types and colors, but the only thing I read there was again commonplaces like "non-oil foundation for oily skin, creamy for dry one" and "try the foundation on your cheeck and go out of the shop to see if it really matches your skintone"...
So, if you are going to buy the book as a gift to your 12-year-old daughter, its ok. But I wouldnt recommend this book to those who seek more information than such basics.

She's clear, articulate, and so helpful. Each look is covered step by step...with such detail. It's a must have for everyone out there.

Datum:13.04.2000 - Rating: 5/5If you are looking for a book about make-up, this is the one!With such enormous variety of cosmetic brands, how do you know whichconcealer would be best for your skin type? I didn't till I read this book. Next time I go to the department store to buy foundation, I won't go for the most expensive brand(hoping that the price matches quality),or the one my friend recommended, I know what to ask the salespersons and I won't be intimidated by them anymore!

Datum:04.01.2000 - Rating: 5/5I've read a lot of books about makeup and I consider this as the best book I've ever read about this subject. It's very clear what she means and instead of pushing you in a direction, she gives you the strenght to get the best out of yourself! It's not difficult to read (even not for me; I'm from Holland!) but really fun and I read it on and on! So if you're a newbee or already using make-up or a makeup artist like me, this is really a MUST HAVE!
